Sagebrush steppe in the Great Basin

Kaili Brande and Melissa Lucash

Sagebrush steppe is one of the most threatened land types in North America. This project will use LANDIS-II to assess the durability and efficacy of fuel treatments (mechanical thinning and prescribed fire) to restore these ecosystems in the Great Basin. This is a subset of the larger SageSTEP project, a multi-decadal multidisciplinary assessment of restoration methods to support resource managers and inform land management decisions.

This project is funded by USDA Joint Fire Sciences, 2024-present
