Jannike Allen

Her story

Jannike Allen grew up in Sebastopol, California assisting with workshops and assembling educational materials for her family’s business, The Rahus Institute (a solar education nonprofit).  She is currently an undergraduate senior in Environmental Science at Portland State University.  Outside of courses for her major, she has been involved in Norwegian language classes and plays percussion in PSU music ensembles.  Jannike enjoys getting out in nature, incorporating sustainable practices into her life, and spending time with her awesome family who are environmental activists.  She is working on her honors thesis on post-fire recovery in Alaska in the Lucash Lab during the 2019-2020 academic year.  Jannike is now working as a Collaborative Forest Management Apprentice at Sierra Institute (https://sierrainstitute.us/).
